Some rumor started flying around yesterday which should and probably will give me some more motivation to work for my postgrad studies. Because if this rumor is true or turns true I might be without a job in about two years time. Which shouldn't shock me that much, because I've only got a fixed-term contract (with rather safe option to be extended though) to begin with. And I always knew that I don't want to do this for the rest of my life. Hence the postgrad studies.

But it still feels kind of awkward. And this uncertainty is one of the reasons I never planned on working in the field I'm working in: the range of politics. The other reason is that I am acting in the range of politics on local level in my spare time, which I really like doing. But I wouldn't mind spending the working part of my life doing something different. I just got stuck working there and it's not that bad really... if there weren't these uncertainties. Anyway, this puts my future working plans back into perspective, which is a good thing actually. Now I just have to act on it :-)
